Managing Roads To Your Success

CANYON COUNTY WESTERN ROUTE

Local Transportation and Land Use Agencies are working together to identify a future roadway corridor across southern Canyon County, known as the Canyon County Western Route. The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) working to identify this important corridor consists of the following agencies:

o Nampa Highway District No. 1

o Canyon Highway District No. 4

o City of Caldwell

o City of Nampa

o Canyon County

In 2006, the Nampa Highway District No. 1 (NHD) obtained federal funding for the Bowmont Road Project. The purpose of the project is to complete NHD’s portion of the Bowmont/Kuna-Mora Corridor between Idaho 45 south of Nampa and I-84 at the Black’s Creek Interchange.  Specifically, this project consists of extending Bowmont Road from Robinson Road to the Canyon/Ada County line at Green Lane, Kuna-Mora Road or other location as determined through coordination with the Ada County Highway District (ACHD).

Phase I of the Kuna-Mora Road Corridor Study evaluated the 21-mile corridor from the Ada/Canyon County line east to I-84.  Phase II is currently underway and is looking at alignment options for the 8-mile segment from the Canyon County line east to Eagle Road.
